The
AEMV association was founded in Geneva in 1979 by a group
of plastic and reconstructive surgeons. The association is dedicated
to helping third world country children who are facially mutilated
due to various diseases. The idea of AEMV originated from the
realisation that many children were victims of face cancer, severe
burns or accidents and were not capable of undergoing treatment
and travel expenses. A large portion of these children are therefore
transferred to Switzerland for surgical treatment
The AEMV seeks to inform the general public of
their activities in this area.
